Formative Age was founded in 2008 by Smruti Gopal to impart Dr. Montessori’s philosophy and its core beliefs to teachers. Our goal was to create a curriculum that will empower the student teachers and equip them with skills to create learning environments in which children can work freely, safely, and happily. We offer online certificate courses for adults who want to become Montessori Pre- Primary or Primary teachers. Formative Age courses are based on the authentic Montessori philosophy. We want teachers to understand Dr. Montessori’s philosophy so that they will be able to follow and guide the child. Our courses are structured to help the student teacher make the most of the curriculum through periodic quizzes and assignments. For example, narrating a story with props helps the student teacher learn storytelling in the Pre-Primary curriculum. Similarly, the Primary student teachers learn presentation skills and how to make their own material through a project on Pollination.Both the courses will give enough knowledge and ideas that can be made use of by the student teacher while working with children.
Every year, our aim is to see teachers leaving Formative age with confidence, compassion, and a deep insight into the Montessori philosophy, the Child and the teaching practices which will help them make a difference in the lives of children.
