About Formative Age

Formative Age was founded in 2008 by Smruti Gopal with a clear mission: to share the authentic philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori and empower educators  and parents to create nurturing, child-centered learning environments.

Our curriculum is designed to equip aspiring teachers with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to guide children in spaces where they can work freely, safely, and joyfully. The Parenting courses equip parents with ways they can be present for their child and strengthen their parent–child connection.

Our Approach

All Montessori courses are grounded in Dr. Montessori’s authentic philosophy. Courses are interactive and thoughtfully structured with periodic quizzes, reflective assignments, and creative projects that bring the learning to life.

For example:

• In the Pre-Primary course, student teachers practice storytelling using props, enhancing engagement and creativity.
• In the Primary course, learners explore concepts like pollination through hands-on projects, gaining both knowledge and practical classroom tools.
